Real world challenges demand real world solutions

We work with rural property owners, public land managers and Indigenous landholders to deliver real world solutions to environmental challenges, including fire management, invasive species control and restoration of wildlife habitat. Our award winning programs bring together scientific expertise and proven community engagement strategies to protect and restore nature and build lasting capacity for effective natural resource management.

Restoring wildlife habitat

We are working to bring native species back from the brink of extinction by helping landholders and public land managers control feral animals and restore wildlife habitat.

Working with landholders

We are working closely with landholders to restore wildlife habitat wherever we can, from the fringes of our cities and towns, to the farmlands and forests of rural New South Wales.

The Hotspots Fire Project is an education and training program we run with the NSW Rural Fire Service to increase understanding of the role of fire in the bush and how it can be best managed for a variety of outcomes.

Through the Firesticks project, we are working with Indigenous communities and government agencies to integrate contemporary and Aboriginal fire practices to protect and enhance wildlife habitat and Indigenous cultural values.

Bushfire program

We have been actively involved in fire management, bushfire education and advocacy for sustainable land policy since 1979.

Coldstream project

We are working with 44 private landholders and public land managers across 25,000 hectares in the Border Ranges to bring the North Coast emu back from the brink of extinction by restoring wildlife habitat and enhancing conservation values.

Great Eastern Ranges Initiative

We are one of several organisations in NSW and the ACT working to restore wildlife habitat and connect vegetation remnants across the landscape.

NSW Fish Habitat Partnership

A diverse group of organisations with an interest in the long-term future of fishing in NSW has come together to boost fish populations by improving the health of fish habitat.
